General Meeting
June 7, 2022

Introductions

6:30PM – Attendees: Stephanie V, Jodi S, Gail H, Principal Kosmala, Kristen B., Leah Robb, Courtney Meeboer, Gina Lascink, Kate Cockrill, Joelle Alexander.

Preliminary Business

    • Approve Meeting minutes – meeting minutes reviewed & approved – Jodi moved to approve minutes, Gail 2nd
    • No additions/changes to this Meeting Agenda

Treasurer’s Report

Monthly Report – Gail and Jodi:
$61,479.02 – checking
$45,235.73 – savings
Jodi reviewed the budget vs actual YTD by line item.
We need to submit a new list of who can be signers on the Key Bank account. Make list once new board is elected.
Funding commitment letter shared and approved.
Jodi moved to approve, didn’t catch who 2nd
Sun School requested $500 add to budget for BIPOC male event.
Stephanie moved to approve, Courtney and Kristen 2nd
Gail will reach out to Nicole to let her know.
Rolling locker volunteers needed sometime the week of 6/20. Stephanie will find volunteers.

Principal Report
Ms. Kosmala

    • Jump start will be held on August 30: 6th graders will come by themselves on the first day of school next year. 7th and 8th graders start on 8/31
    • September 8, 2022 would be assembly date where fundraiser can be kicked off
    • Volunteers needed for picture day, awesome fun night (tentatively Nov) and possibly for a book fair in Nov.
    • Ms. Kosmala reviewed teacher/staff changes
    • Adding ½ time block teacher for 8th grade
    • Had Culture Day. Past year budget has been $7k. They had $5k left from last year and spent that down this year. We currently have $6.5k in budget and need to revisit if we need to bump that up for next year.
    • Leadership and AVID classes have been added
    • There are currently 1.5 licensed special education positions open and 2 classified positions.
    • Class sizes will be between 29 and 33 next year.
    • District ordered five new teacher carts.
    • 8th grade promotion will be on Friday, June 10

Other

PTA board will hold a meeting for the old board to transition to the new board.
PTA meetings will likely be back in person at the Jackson Library next year.
