Jackson Middle School is a part of the Portland Public School system and this is their official website.

Leonard Bernstein Center for Artful Learning
From their website: "...By placing the arts at the center of learning, the Center helps schools and communities achieve educational excellence by promoting our rich cultural legacy as a catalyst for lifelong learning...." Great information for those wanting to know more about what is being done at Jackson Middle School with regard to "Artful Learning."

Yahoo Groups Subscription
Approximately once a week, we send out an email to members of the jacksonpta distribution list through the Yahoo Groups website. This is the best way to keep up-to-date on happenings at JMS. So, please sign up for the distribution list so that we can keep you up-to-date on Jackson Middle School happenings. It's a self-maintaining distribution list; you can add or remove yourself at will. If you have any problems subscribing, contact the Webmaster.

PPS School Choice Website
For those families who want to attend Jackson Middle School but may not be within the boundaries that allow their attendance normally, there is an option for you. Visit the PPS "School Choice" website and apply to attend Jackson Middle School.

Wilson High School
Children that attend Jackson Middle School typically progress to Wilson High School upon graduation. Go Trojans!

Oregon PTA Website

PPS Foundation
The Portland Public Schools Foundation is an independent, community-based organization that mobilizes the public, private and political will and resources needed to guarantee a world-class public education for all Portland children.

The Oregon Diploma Requirements
The Oregon Diploma requirements have been changing and if you are one of those who are seeking a greater understanding of what the requirements will be starting with the 2012 graduation year, then you should visit the www.GetReadyOregon.org website and/or the Oregon Department of Education write-up on the topic.

These are the three Portland Public Elementary Schools that are the primary "feeders" into Jackson Middle School.

Wilson Area Arts Council (WAAC)
WAAC is a volunteer-run non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing education in the visual and performing arts.

Neighborhood House
The SUN Program is handled through this organization, but it offers much more. Its self-described purpose: "Neighborhood House brings neighbors together to feed the hungry, house the homeless, and educate young and old. We strengthen community by providing resources to support self-reliance, economic independence and dignity in people of all ages and backgrounds."

Oregon Partnership
From their website: "Oregon Partnership is a statewide nonprofit promoting healthy kids and communities through drug and alcohol awareness, drug prevention programs, and 24 hour crisis lines for treatment referrals and suicide prevention and intervention. We work with schools and community coalitions statewide, and our resource library is open to all to educate on the dangers of substance abuse."

Jackson Soccer Club
The soccer club serving Jackson Middle School students and families that attend the "feeder" elementary schools. Jackson Soccer Club is a recreational club starting at U6 (under six years old) and continuing on through the middle school years.

Wilson Youth Basketball Association
It is the mission of Wilson Youth Basketball program to help each participant reach his/her highest potential in basketball and to accommodate each level of player, from the new-comer to those who have aspirations to play in high school and college.

QSP is a subsidiary of The Reader's Digest Association, Inc. and it is one of the most significant revenue sources for the Jackson Middle School PTA. You are encouraged to provide this link to your friends and family too.

Box Tops for Education
Jackson Middle School earns ten cents for each Box Tops coupon –– but with participation from our entire community, we could earn thousands of dollars for the school. So pitch in, clip those Box Tops or log into Box Tops Marketplace, and participate in one of the easiest ways to raise money for our children’s school!
